Ex-England and Liverpool footballer Andy Carroll faces trial next year ‘after breaching non-molestation order by repeatedly calling TOWIE star ex-wife Billi Mucklow’

Ex-England and Liverpool Footballer Andy Carroll Set for Trial in 2025 Over Alleged Breach of Non-Molestation Order

Former Premier League forward Andy Carroll is preparing to stand trial in the coming year after allegedly violating a non-molestation order issued against his ex-wife, Billi Mucklow, a star of the reality TV show *The Only Way Is Essex*. The 36-year-old, who now plays for National League South side Dagenham & Redbridge, faces charges of repeatedly contacting Ms. Mucklow without a valid reason on March 11, 2025.

The court order, designed to prevent unwanted communication, was granted by the Family Court at Chelmsford Justice Centre on October 10, 2024. Carroll was arrested at Stansted Airport on April 27, 2024, following claims of breaching this directive. His legal team had anticipated a plea hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court, but he and his counsel were absent, leading to a postponement.

“I’m going to fix the trial for two days on January 18 next year,” stated Judge Chris Morgan, who noted Carroll’s unavailability, adding, “For all we know, he could be in France or Dubai—no one’s certain.”

On February 4, Carroll appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on crutches, signaling his intent to contest the allegations. However, he missed a subsequent hearing on March 3. His absence prompted the court to adjourn the arraignment to March 4, 2025, after the prosecutor clarified that his lawyers believed the date had been set for the following day.

Carroll, currently in a relationship with make-up artist Lou Teasdale, 42, met her at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2024. The couple parted ways with Ms. Mucklow in July 2024, following a two-year marriage marked by conflict. Their divorce process began in September 2024, and they share three children: sons Arlo and Wolf, and daughter Marve.

Carroll’s career includes a high-profile transfer from Newcastle to Liverpool for a then-record £35 million in 2011. During his tenure at Anfield, he earned nine caps for the England national team. After leaving Liverpool, he played for West Ham, Reading, and West Brom before joining Dagenham & Redbridge in July 2024.

Ms. Mucklow, who featured on *The Only Way Is Essex* from 2011 to 2013, returned for a short comeback in 2018. The incident at Stansted Airport occurred shortly after Carroll landed in the UK from France, with police reportedly alerted by Border Force officers at passport control.

“A man has been charged with breaching a non-molestation order,” said a representative from Essex Police. “Andrew Carroll, 36, of Epping, was arrested on April 27 and the alleged offenses relate to an incident in March this year.”

According to a source, Carroll was questioned by officers at the time of his arrest and briefly detained. The situation caused disruption among other passengers present. The penalty for breaching such an order can range from a fine to a maximum of five years in prison, depending on the severity of the case.
