Two Suspects Charged with Murder, Others Released on Bail
West Yorkshire Police confirmed that Kayla Smith, 18, and Archie Rycroft, 19, both from Leeds, have been charged with murder.
Kayla Smith, a self-employed beautician, operates her business, Luxe Aesthetics, from her grandfather’s residence in east Leeds, as reported by the Daily Mail.

“My beautiful princess Chloe. I cannot express the depth of my sorrow knowing you are no longer with us. You were my life, my world, my closest friend, and I know you were mine. Without you, I cannot imagine living – I need you every day.”
“Your two sisters and older brother will forever cherish and miss you. You will always live on in our hearts. Love Mum, Connor, Courtney, and Cienna.”
Shantelle Watson, Chloe’s cousin, shared on GoFundMe: ‘My 16-year-old cousin’s life was tragically taken in a sudden accident. She didn’t reach her 18th birthday, and her entire life was snatched away in an instant over a romantic rivalry.’ She added, ‘I’ve started a GoFundMe campaign to ensure she receives the most memorable send-off possible. She was full of vitality and a pure, beautiful soul – taken too soon.’
Wayne Mallows, a 64-year-old neighbor, recounted the incident: ‘I was called from my home around 5:50 AM Saturday by a dogwalker. She said my neighbor was outside performing CPR on the girl. He was tiring, so I checked if they’d called an ambulance. Then I noticed a phone on the ground, set to loudspeaker, where ambulance control was guiding him. I took over until the ambulance arrived ten minutes later. The girl had been stabbed in the back, with significant blood loss, and her eyes were blank.’
Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle, leading the investigation, stated: ‘Our thoughts are with Chloe’s family during this heartbreaking period. Our specialized officers continue to support them. The inquiry into her death is ongoing, with five suspects in custody as we determine the full details of the incident.’
