A 13-year-old boy, Noah Campbell, lost his life in a tragic collision in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, on Friday night at 23:50 BST. His family has expressed their heartfelt condolences, calling him a “fun, bright, handsome, athletic” individual who was “incredibly well-liked.” The incident involved a car, a bicycle, and a scooter, leaving the community in mourning.
Family Statement
Noah’s loved ones shared memories of his vibrant personality and deep connections to those around him. In their tribute, they highlighted his passion for sports and his adventurous spirit. “He cherished spending time with his friends and family; they were the heart of his world,” the statement said. It also noted his skill in rugby, cricket, and athletics, as well as his enthusiasm for gym workouts and bike park excursions.
“Noah’s death has left a hole in our lives that will remain forever.”
Two teenagers were seriously injured in the crash and taken to the hospital. One remains in critical condition, while the other has since been discharged. The police have since confirmed the arrest of two individuals linked to the incident.
Charges and Court Appearance
Jamie Fountain, a 24-year-old man from Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, faces multiple charges, including causing death by careless driving and causing death by driving while over the legal limit for alcohol and drugs. He is also accused of causing serious injuries to two other boys and failing to stop at the scene of the accident. Additionally, he was charged with not reporting the incident and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Ellie Ireland, a 23-year-old woman from Wingate Drive, Ampthill, has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Both Fountain and Ireland are scheduled to appear before Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
