Two people were detained by police following a collision that resulted in the death of one boy and left two others with severe injuries. Emergency services responded to Greenfield Road in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, at 23:50 BST on Friday, after a vehicle struck three teenage boys—one cycling, another on a scooter, and the third on foot.

Authorities confirmed that one of the boys died at the scene, while the other two were transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The driver fled the area but a blue BMW, showing substantial damage, was later discovered on a nearby street. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full details of the crash.

“Our priority is supporting the families of the boy who lost his life and the two injured teenagers,” said Det Sgt Shona Searle of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit. “We are exploring multiple leads to understand what happened and urge anyone with footage from dashcams, doorbells, or CCTV to contact us immediately.”
