A 37-year-old man from Dunmow has been arrested on suspicion of failing to control his dog, which caused fatal injuries. He is currently in custody, the police confirmed. The dog was removed from the premises, and specialist officers secured the area to ensure safety.

“This incident will be a shock to the local community,” said Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper. “My thoughts, along with those of the Essex Police team, are with the woman’s family and loved ones. Officers will remain in the area today to gather details and address any concerns. Experienced detectives are leading the investigation to determine the full sequence of events.”
The force is asking for public assistance, including CCTV footage or dashcam recordings, related to incident 1419, reported on April 10.
