New Jersey woman accused of sexually - A New Jersey woman accused of sexually assaulting a young child has been taken into custody following an investigation that uncovered disturbing video evidence. Victoria Anne Cranmer, 25, allegedly recorded the incident on May 6 and shared portions of the footage through Snapchat before authorities became aware of the case.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Law enforcement officials filed multiple charges against Cranmer on Tuesday. The accusations include second-degree sexual assault alongside second-degree manufacturing of child sexual abuse material. She also faces third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
The alleged assault occurred in the bathroom of a home in Little Egg Harbor. According to reports, the victim was younger than 13 years old at the time of the incident. The fourteen-second video captured Cranmer laughing while committing the act, according to police statements.
Identification of the suspect came through distinctive tattoos, including one on her leg depicting breasts. The New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency initiated their investigation on May 20 after receiving a referral regarding the case.
The evidence was discovered through a cellphone that a former roommate had given Cranmer as a birthday gift. When the roommate asked Cranmer to move out, she requested the phone be left behind. Upon reviewing the device, the roommate found the Snapchat videos stored in the app's Memories section and immediately turned the phone over to authorities.
Cranmer has been booked into Ocean County Jail and is being held without bail. The Little Egg Harbor Police Department and Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit are handling the case. At least one video was shared on Snapchat before the incident came to light.
